Hello,
I'm really enjoying my year as an Au Pair. Right now I'm back in Canada for 3 weeks, and will return to Hamburg at the end of July to finish up my term.
The family is great. I feel like we get along very well, we stick to the contract a lot when it comes to rules, hours etc. I do feel like a member of the family. They have always taken me on vacation when the whole family was involved. The city is wonderful. There is always something to do, and it's so beautiful and green. The only thing that doesn't always please me is the weather, but it's so minimal. It adds to Hamburg's charm.
I have many friends who are also Au Pairs. My two closest ones are also with the agency. I'm at that stage where they are starting to leave though, so that's a little sad, but it's interesting to have made so many friends from so many different cultures.
Hamburg itself is a beautiful sight, but I've also gotten a chance to see other places in Germany like Berlin, Stuttgart, Bayern, Sylt, and Bremen. On a week off I also went to the Netherlands and Belgium. I've gotten to see quite a diversity of cities and hope that before I leave Europe, I can get a couple more in there.
I can't think of much more to write. But I'll enclose a couple more pictures (my friends and I in Amsterdam, my friend and I at a public viewing of UEFA, One of the kids and I, me in the South of Germany, Family vacation to St. Tropez)
